Day at leisure to explore Venice using your Venice Pass Card. This provides free beat the queues access to both the Doges Palace and St Mark’s Basilica.
Wander through the Doge’s Palace where you can see artwork of the previous Doge’s, (the Venetian rulers) before heading down to the prison, passing over The Bridge of Sighs. This was the last view prisoners got of the outside world before they entered the prison. Of course one famous person who escaped was Casanova!
Then walk next door to St Mark’s Basilica for an eclectic East meets West church, which whilst remaining Venetian, also has an Ottoman Empire flavour to it. It is worth paying the 3 euros per person fee to reach the roof, for the lovely views over St Mark’s Square.

Waiting for you at hotel reception will be your opera tickets and your Verona Pass Card. The Verona Pass Card allows free access to many of the local churches and museums. It also comes with a handy map highlighting where you can find the main sights, so you can make the most of your time.
This evening let your nose choose where you head for dinner. If there is a performance on at the arena, we recommend you dine at one of the restaurants just outside. Whilst you won’t get to see the performance, you will get to hear the fantastic acoustics that the arena has to offer.
Spend the day exploring Verona. You can enjoy Juliet’s Balcony and Tomb, Castelvecchio, The Natural History Museum and the various museums and churches all free with your Verona Pass Card.
We recommend you also add in a visit to the Arena Opera Museum where you can see the old sets and costumes, including gowns worn by the great Maria Callas.

Say good bye to your guide before moving onto Santa Maria della Grazie, the church that houses the world famous Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper fresco.
This mural has narrowly avoided two main disasters – the first the paint badly fading so the figures became unrecognisable, the second almost being destroyed during the bombing of World War II. This enigmatic fresco has led to speculation that it is Mary and not John sitting to Jesus’ right. With your entrance ticket, you have time to witness this incredible fresco.
