Twice yearly the thrilling historical Siena Palio horse takes place. Be part of this fantastic event, with local Sienese guides making sure you understand the unique traditions and customs, as you get swept up in the parades, attend a good luck open-air dinner, watch the Trials and of course the Palio itself. We have exclusive access to a wide range of viewing positions including balconies, grandstand and windows.
If you have longer than 4 days, why not extend your trip. You can spend a few days in Verona attending the Arena di Verona for a mesmerising opera experience in the Roman open-air arena, or even enjoy a three city break.

We had a fantastic trip. We loved the Athena hotel (which has an exceptionally good restaurant, very warm staff); our guide Paul was excellent – well informed and helpful – and the Palio itself was a unique experience both in terms of the preparation, the trials and the Contrada dinner and procession and race on the day itself.
Jackie and I had a wonderful time. Definitely something you have to experience in the flesh to properly appreciate. Utterly unique. Brilliant hotel. The Contrada meal was excellent, as were the trials and tour of the town. Maria was an excellent guide and very helpful. Food great.
