Sorrento - Private Guided Herculaneum Tour

For those wanting to delve even further into the history of this unique location, this private guided half day tour includes seeing Herculaneum in detail. Herculaneum is smaller than Pompeii and less crowded. The timber frames on the buildings are better preserved due to the covering of mud after the eruption. There are still new discoveries being found at the site including unearthed frescoes proving to be some of the earliest recorded as evidence of Christianity in Italy.

Price: £170 per person and includes private guide for half day. The site can be reached by the Circumvesuviana Train.

Day 3
Private Guided Tour of Capri with Blue Grotto

Today you will be driven to the harbour for collecting the shared boat to Capri. Once on the island your private guide will take you around Anacapri; the highest part of the island.

You will be able see the Faraglioni rock formations, as well as the marina far below, where Emperor Tiberius was known to throw those that displeased him.

Follow this with a boat trip from Marina Grande to the Blue Grotto. Your small rowing boat with driver will enter the sea cave where you can witness the blue reflection that illuminates the cavern, thus providing the name.

Please note this tour is weather and tide permitting.

At the end of the day transfer back on the shared boat to the mainland, where your private driver will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 4
Day at Leisure

Today you have a day at leisure.

You can either stroll into Sorrento for some shopping and sightseeing, relax around the pool or alternatively add in our private guided Herculaneum tour. This is a must for history buffs, but also for those who want to see a better preserved town which also suffered the same fate as Pompeii due to Mount Vesuvius.

I have been very impressed with your company’s customer service. Normally I book everything independently online but this experience has so far converted me to sing the praises of travel agents.
