Enjoy a half-day tour of ancient Rome. You will see the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Palatino and Augustus Arch.
Feel as if you have been taken back in time to the last 2,500 years, following in the footsteps of the gladiators in the Colosseum. Walk through the remains of the Roman Forum viewing what was once the centre of elections, criminal trials and public speeches. Make sure to find time to see Augustus’s Arch, which spanned the road between the three main temples – Temple of Castor and Pollux, Caesar and Vesta.

Rome - Early Guided Access to the Vatican
Your private driver will transfer you the short distance to Vatican City. Here you have a beat the queues entrance where with your guide and small group, you have early access to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel, before all the crowds arrive. This is essential as even early in the morning the crowds outside the Vatican are very long.
Marvel at the unique sculpture by Michelangelo and Bernin, the exquisite paintings by Raffaello Sanzio. Wander through the Belvedere Court, The Tapestry Galleries and the frescoes in the Gallery of the Maps. Make sure you leave some time to enjoy the Egyptian Museum, which includes artefacts from the tombs of the pharoahs, mummified remains from the Egyptian dynasty. Lastly, explore the Etruscan Museum.

If you are in Rome on a Wednesday morning, why not have an audience with the pope. He is normally available (his schedule permitting) at 10.30am and will be happy to bestow his blessing on you. In summer this blessing takes place in St Peter’s Square to accommodate the masses of devotees.
The pope will offer some readings and teachings in both Italian and English, before asking you to say the “Our Father” prayer collectively in Latin.

Ostia Antica is one of the original port harbours in the world and served Rome in times of sea trade. Walk to the Circumvesuviana train headed to Pompeii where your private guided tour begins.
Your guide will show you the remains of this tragic city. See the remaining statues and even the pleasure houses and surviving frescoes, along with the eerie sight of some of the bodies covered and preserved in ash.
Then travel onto Herculaneum with your guide. Herculaneum is smaller than Pompeii and less crowded. The timber frames on the buildings are better preserved due to the covering of mud after the eruption. There are still new discoveries being found at the site including unearthed frescoes proving to be some of the earliest recorded as evidence of Christianity in Italy.

Today you will be driven to the harbour for collecting the boat (shared) to Capri. Once on the island your private guide will take you around Anacapri, the highest part of the island. You will be able see the Faraglioni rock formations, as well as the marina far below.
Follow this with a boat trip from Marina Grande to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting). Your small rowing boat with driver will enter the sea cave where you can witness the blue reflection that illuminates the cavern, thus providing the name. Please note this tour is weather and tide permitting.
